Fistiki Fest – A Celebration of the Aegina Pistachio
The Fistiki Fest is Aegina’s major modern-day festival. When you have a Protected Designation of Origin product with a unique flavour and quality that is known the world over, it seems natural to want to celebrate its harvest with locals and visitors alike.And so, on the second weekend in September, once the pistachios have been gathered and roasted (either with salt and lemon, or unsalted for the health-conscious).
International Music Festival of Aegina
This annual event features musical evenings of the highest calibre, accompanied by the sound of waves lapping at Avra beach Aegina under the ancient acropolis of Kolona; or concerts and recitals held at other captivating spots on the island, including the Temple of Aphaia, the Capralos Museum, or the mountain village of Pachia Rachi. Local residents, holiday-makers and visitors can enjoy these magical moments every August.
Theater Festival
Favorite actors of the Greek Theater, works of great authors and music by Greek composers accompany the Aegina Theater Festival every year. The performances are presented in July and offer evenings of entertainment and quality theater to the residents, visitors and vacationers of Aegina. Apart from the well-known actors, the Festival continues the tradition of the last years by giving way to young professional actors and youthful groups.
